When working in Google Sheets, learning to use formulas and making different calculations can really speed up your productivity when it comes to completing different tasks.
There will be times though when you need to get rid of your formulas and convert them to values.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to remove your formula and keep your calculated value by pasting it as values.

How to Copy and Paste as Values
In this example, I have column C which is a formula taking A*B. I will be taking C and copying it to paste as values. Here’s how it’s done:
- Highlight the cells with the formulas that you want to convert to values by clicking with your pointer to select all the cells
- Right-click with your mouse and select Copy
- Right-click again with your mouse and select Paste special
- Select Paste values only
Paste values only will remove the formulas, so that now you only have the real values in the cell
Shortcut for Paste as Values
You can speed up the process of pasting as values by using your keyboard. The keyboard shortcuts for copying and pasting as values are:
- Copy: Ctrl + C
- Paste values only: Ctrl + Shift + V
Closing Thoughts
This was a pretty simple tutorial but it’s a very important want to learn. There will be many times when working in spreadsheets where you need to change your formulas to the actual values.
If you’re a Microsoft Excel user, then you should already know how to do this. Pasting as values works the same way in Excel as it does in Google Sheets.
We hope you found this useful! Be sure to watch the video above if you are confused at all!
